Wilfred Bendjamin Balima. We rated his career at our club with a rating of 83.


Balima started his career in the club "Ouagadougou", in which he spent about seven dozen matches in three years, in January 2006 he moved to our club, became a multiple champion and winner of the Moldovan Cup, the winner of the second Commonwealth Cup in the history of the club. Balima was named the best Moldovan player of the 2008/09 season by the official UEFA website. In the 2011-12 season, Benjamin became the top scorer of the Moldovan National Division, he featured in seven opening rounds of the championship and scored a total of 18 goals. In the 2013-14 season, together with the team, he made it to the group stage of the Europa League. At the end of the 2013/14 season, he became the champion of Moldova for the eighth time. On May 24, 2015, he won the 2014/15 Moldovan Cup with the team. In June 2017, he left Sheriff, he spent 12 full seasons in Tiraspol, becoming one of the most decorated football players in Moldova: he won 10 league titles, 6 Cups and 6 Super Cups of Moldova. However, at the end of July, he returned to our club again.


On 3 May 2019, he made 300 appearances for the club and scored 55 goals.


Balima played for the youth and national teams of Burkina Faso. In 2013, as a member of the national team, he won silver medals at the African Cup of Nations. In qualifying for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, his team reached the play-offs, where they lost to Algeria on aggregate. The first game in Burkina Faso ended in a 3-2 home win, while the Burkinis lost in Algeria. In the second leg, Balima played the full 90 minutes.


In January 2020, Bendjamin Balima ended his career as a football player. Benjamin joined the Sheriff's coaching staff and took up the position of selection coach.
